<p>Carbohydrates, like protein, are essential for your good health.</p>
<p>Carbohydrates are the “fuel” of choice for our body’s cells and help our bodies to metabolize the protein and other essential nutrients we eat.</p>
<p>They are a primary source for vital nutrients &amp; antioxidants such as those found in fresh vegetables. They’re also high in fiber content, which has been shown to help in lowering serum cholesterol levels &amp; aid in digestion.</p>
<p>Some carbs you might want to consider adding to your daily meals include raw &amp; steamed fresh vegetables, whole grains like old-fashioned oats &amp; brown rice, and fresh fruits such as apples, oranges &amp; berries.</p>
<p>With that said, it’s plain to see that a restrictive carbohydrate diet could be detrimental to your overall health. However, some varieties of carbohydrates in the form of simple sugars &amp; refined carbohydrates are best left out of your meals.
